Ray Humphries Transport Ltd (RHT) was formed in 1980 as a general transport and distribution company based in Warrington, Cheshire. Throughout the 1980’s the company pioneered new service levels for the delivery and installation of office furniture with dedicated support warehousing in London, Swindon and Perth and by the early 1990’s RHT was recognised as the UK’s leading provider of logistical support to the office furniture industry.
Through natural development, the Company has evolved to provide a complete fit out service, including full project management, planning, CAD and a general consultancy service to assist its many clients.
RHT has also made great efforts to improve the quality of service levels by raising its own standards through continual staff training and the development of improved operating procedures. As a result of these efforts, in 2002 RHT became the first dedicated service provider to the office furniture industry to achieve theInvestors in People award.
Like most responsible companies, RHT maintains its commitment in reducing the harmful environmental effects of unethical disposal; the company also understands the corporate social responsibility of much larger organisations and local authorities in the ethical disposal of excess and redundant workplace furniture.
To this end, in 2008, RHT formed a unique partnership with one of the UK’s leading environmental consultancies, for the management and ethical disposal of office furniture for London Fire Brigade. The success of this project led to the creation of Ethical Disposal Services (EDS) which is rapidly becoming the UK’s leading provider of large-scale office furniture disposal services.

An indication to RHT’s expertise are projects consisting of a 500 workstation installation at Chester Business Park and a 1000 workstation installation at a prestigious Canary Wharf, projects thatspannedmany weeks and required extensive Project Management and planning in order to succeed.’
Our comprehensive storage services range from 'loose' storage, conventional racking facilities and containerised storage to a complete asset and stock management service. Through our experience in the transportation, distribution and installation of office furniture, we identified the need to apply the same specialised care and attention to its storage and safekeeping.
Customer’s goods are unloaded and stored to ensure their safekeeping (whether capitalised assets or new packaged furniture), an inventory is taken and condition reports issued where necessary. This will then be followed by reports indicating our recommendations on storage, repair, refurbishment or disposal, thus enabling our clients to keep their asset records up to date and relevant for future reference.
